And my narcissistic self.
had a hell of a gastric yesterday, all the way until i slept, and i could still feel a little of the pain now.
worst attack of gastric. everrr.
i am so staying away from coffee for the rest of my two weeks holiday.
just before my mid-sem tests started a few days ago, for some unknown reason that was beyond me, my handphone ceased to detect my SIM card.
so i pretty much survived almost one week without a handphone.
at first i thought maybe it's spoiled, so i borrowed an extra one from ky.
turns out the item in question was my SIM card.
oh, and i was so happy, thinking that finally i could change a new handphone.
=.=
so this afternoon i went to parkway with my mother and sister in tow to get a new SIM card.
the person said i have to wait for around two hours for the new card to get activated.
so much for technology.
*NOTE* after which i found out that all my contacts were gone and i couldn't transfer them from the old card because, well, it's spoiled!!
anyways, after a brief window-shopping session (i saw HYDE's new solo album! i want it i want it i want it!!) we went to katong next because i wanted to get my hair cut and have been going on and on about it for weeks.
when we got there, the salon i always went to (ever since sec4) was closed, maybe for cleaning? because i saw a staff at the back of the salon busy with something.
my mother then decided to go upstairs to get my sister a new pair of slippers/sandals and we loitered around for a while more before checking the salon again.
turns out they weren't closed for cleaning.
they were closed for the day.
just my luck, i tell you.
oh well, i can't leave katong without having done something meaningful, so i went to my beloved manga shop!
i rented eight manga and got myself a saiyuki poster while (surprise surprise) my mother rented SIXTEEN manga by her favourite (or should i say, only) manga-ka, plus a cardcaptor sakura poster for my sister.
for no reason, i'm kinda hooked onto B'z, this rock duo from japan.
the songs are nice, even the ballads are rock-ish.
and the duo had been set up since 1988! gosh, that's as old as i am!
it just shows that they have that extra something to keep them still famous in the everchanging entertainment business, while new stars kept popping up now and then before getting forgotten by others in no time flat.
what's shocking is that the singer of B'z, this rock kind of singer, screaming and shouting into the microphone, all over the stage in the patented frenzy of rock and roll singers, with tattoos on his arm and wrist, swinging the mic stand all over the place, GRADUATED FROM A JAPANESE UNIVERSITY AS A MATHEMATICS TEACHER AND HAS A TEACHER'S LICENSE TO TEACH MATHS!!
omg.. talk about not judging a book by it's cover.
and the other half of the duo, the guitarist, used to open a guitar shop or worked in one (i'm not very sure), speaks so soft he can compete with the careless whisperer of singapore idol.
but the moment he picks up a guitar, any kind of guitar..
the trasition shocks you to no end.
this is the link to the pv of "ai no bakudan", currently one of my faves.

another damn good rock song: "shodou"

"OCEAN". a ballad, which happens to be also the theme song for the japanese drama "umizaru evolution", the sequel to movie "umizaru" and prequel to "umizaru: LIMIT OF LOVE".
