thanks to julia, yl, ym, yw, klara, janice, phoenix, jill, fabian and felicia (am i missing out anyone?) for the new crumpler =)
and ky for getting me that Final Fantasy XII that i've been salivating over ever since it came out.
speaking of bags, it seems that i haven't lost the knack for pulling out money from them.
when i was washing (scrubbing, more likely) out my old OP bag, 5cents dropped out.
all right, i concede that it was nowhere as impressive as pulling out $20 like i could three years ago, but still!
anyways, i feel like ranting for a bit and let's see..
i know! i shall blog about the things that get on my nerves!
first, of course, would be my mother.
one, she has no tact; two, has the intelligence uncannily similiar to a dumb blonde; three, it turns out that she's one of those people who i hate for not knowing how to walk properly; and lastly, she's a cancer.
i've always prided myself as not being superstitious but this is only thing about horoscopes that i absolutely believe in:
ARIESs CAN'T GET ALONG WITH CANCERS.
cancers are over-assertive about things that doesn't need to be worried about and are too loose about things that require one to be assertive about.
cancers can't understand and accept aries' innate attraction to freedom and independence.
personally, i just think that they try too hard to fuse themselves into arieses' lives and end up suffocating us.
thankfully, none of my friends are cancers. at least, none that i'm sure of.
right, next, my writer pet peeves.
because i'm constantly reading fanfictions (for reasons i'm sure some are aware of), i can't stand it when other writers don't ever check through their work.
fine, some don't have betas. but one doesn't need betas to check for spelling errors, no?
but as compared to that, i downright abhor it when those writers spell "definitely" as "defiantly".
sometimes the latter was purposely used but i'm sure everyone is able to tell the difference when the first was intended, right? because really, the sentences mean two things when it's
"she was definitely glaring at me", or
"she was defiantly glaring at me".
ok, now that i'm feeling better, it's back to editing AK so it won't be so long-winded without compromising the character developments.
i'm so addicted to this song now: Hitomi no Jyuunin. watch for the extreme high note.
i remember being really shocked the first time i saw the music video years ago for this song when hyde hit that note and i'm playing that song on loop on my laptop now.
who says japanese music isn't good hasn't even begun to realise the talents that they're missing out on.

the pregnant half moon hung low and heavy
on the thin cushion of wispy night clouds
as a lone star watches over from a fair distance away,
the only two natural brightness in the otherwise empty dark sky,
reflected mauve by the remaining city lights
that shone silently from below.
yesterday was, the first day of the last year of my polytechnic life.
it is kind of surreal, now that i contemplate about it in the middle of the night.
compared to secondary school where the days dragged on and exams couldn't end earlier to bring the year to a close, two years of poly had just past with a snap of the fingers.
and i find it regretful that among the two years that i've freed to the past, i have not yet made friends that i feel were as close as those in the final two years of my uniform-wearing life.
well, it's understandable, considering that we've seen each other through the horrifying battle that was o'levels.
and the only thing that comes close to that now was project work.
enter deadline rushes, last minute research, half-prepared presentations, unbearable groupmates, mismatched intelligence and cognitive thinking, communication breakdowns.
next, is our own way of releasing stress: bitching. or "ranting", for a more gentler choice of words.
don't get me wrong, those have ways of bringing people closer, when you understand each other's temperaments, thinking style and level of sadistic mental bashing of the one person in the group that is the ultimate UGH of common consensus.
makes it easier for one to know how to turn an aquaintance into a friend, working around their tempers and stuff like that, when one isn't all gungho about making friends with everyone he or she meets.
i guess i would always group my friends in the "secondary school" branch and the "poly" branch.
it's a habit that i don't think will leave anytime soon, but still i'm grateful to have met those two groups of people.
after all, it is the people you meet and the tribulations that you hold one another through that secures the link in between.
sheesh, i sound so sappy =.=
*shudders*
by the way, ym, don't get too upset that we're not in the same class, all right? LOM isn't very big and we'd bump into each other so often that you'd get sick of us.
NOT! =)
anyway, i've sort of turned fabian into a semi-fan of L'Arc, and phoenix kept insisting that hyde looks too gay (nix dear, you have not seen their earliest music videos), which is weird- at least to me- considering.. hmm.. let's not mention anything.
perhaps i find it weird that she says they look gay while fabian agrees with me that they are cool? and that phoenix is a girl while fabian is, well, a guy. i think.
i don't know, but i seem to have an affinity for "pretty boys", restricted to the japanese kind, anyway.
and nix is too deep in her hyde-assumptions for me to change her mind by showing her his recent pictures and live performances where he swears repeatedly as if it was something a person says- oh, i don't know- two hundred thousand times a day?
speaking of phoenix, i have to close off AK chapter 19 soon so i can send the file to her by today.
let's hope my muse doesn't let me down.

um.. don't know if she'll see this entry, but still!
haha.. i am sort of turning this "birthday shoutout" on my blog into some kind of habit.
all right, back to writing.
a thousand more words and i can send Aki Kitsune chapters 17~19 to phoenix for beta-ing.
let me introduce, L'Arc~en~Ciel!!!!!!!~~~
from left:
yuki (drums), hyde (vocal), tetsu (bass, leader) and ken (guitar).
here's another one:
and now i have this temptation to put up hyde's photos..
long ago when hyde had really long hair.
pretty~ i'm envious of hyde's androgynous coolness.
funny face hyde. cute!
*swoons*
blond hyde with his wing tattoo.
i think it's nice, although i don't have the courage to get one.
L'Arc is going to have a new single soon!
*anticipation*
anyway, as i was saying with the youtube-stalking and stuff, another japanese boyband (pop/hip-hop) covered one if their songs New World- which!- is one of my favourite songs.
more rockish, and that makes it nice too.
BUT! kattun totally spoiled it with their own worse-than-mediocre rendition of the song.
i think they've lowered the original keys for the chorus at least an octave *nods solemnly*
sheesh, incompetent.
plus, their nasal voice is so IRRITATING. it does no justice to hyde's smooth tones.
GRRR.
you be the judge.
first video is the orginal live version of New World. the second is kattun's horrible attempt at trying out a long established (since 1991) rock band's style.
i don't even want to know what's up with the gimmick using samurais.
whatever.
L'Arc~en~Ciel "rocks my socks", to quote my dear pauline.

erm.. i think i lost chapters eleven through thirteen of Aki Kitsune that i had transferred, before sending my laptop to the repairs, to one of my father's many thumbdrives when i was editing them last night and had stupidly deleted temporary files when i cleaned up my laptop before shutting it down.
0.0
let me have this moment of silence to laugh at my own stupidity.
*bawls*
ahem.. anyways, ky bought my final fantasy XII!!!
woohoo!!
now, if i could only finish up final fantasy X first.. hmm..

anyway, sidestepping from that, i've finally went to the not-so-new-anymore ikea at tampines.
there're a lot of things i wanted to get, like a new closet, bigger desk, bookshelf, cd rack..
and that's just the starters.
i saw a black metal bed frame that i quite like, and an interchangeable black-or-white bedspread. it feels nice on the skin too.
but, my old-fashioned mother is against the tiniest hint of black in the house.
oh well, no big deal. we don't have the budget to do up our house anyways.
besides, the old man in my house would probably be against the idea of getting new fixtures when our current ones weren't falling apart in splinters to carpet our floor.
oh yeah, we've finally gotten ym's belated birthday present.
janice (yes, that janice) and i walked around bugis (now called BHG or something when it used to be seiyu), bag shop to bag shop searching for a design that would fit ym.
after many window shopping (of which i fell in love with this black coat from esprit. i'm like having this fetish for coats now, i wonder why), "consultation" calls to yl, and crazily fast and random digression on our parts, we've finally bought a black leather bag for her.
and of course, we've bought jill's present too.
switching the topic yet again, my fascination for L'Arc~en~Ciel has resurfaced yet again (go Laruku!) and i'm now totally in love with 自由への招待.
i find this part of the lyrics quite amusing:
"足取りは遅く 中指は早く"
if you understand it, you'd get the point of my amusement.
ok, the song isn't very new but i like it. especially hyde's high notes, yuki's drumming, ken and tetsu's respective guitar and bass parts.
oh, and ken wasn't smoking in the video for this song. although it was cute when he did in Ready Steady Go! and some host from a tv show joked about smoking not being allowed in the studio when L'Arc was invited to do a live performance for that song on the show.
about the video, hyde in black coat (that's my fetish talking) and tank top?
HOTNESS.
the only thing better than that would be hyde in a suit, sans the tie and top two shirt buttons undone.
only, that would come after hyde in leather pants.
hmm.. gotta go clean up the saliva that's dripping all over..
