And my narcissistic self.
anyway, i've finally put the converse voucher that i got for my birthday to good use!! aren't you guys proud of me, my dearest secondary4 gang?
yl, ym and i met up early before camp on monday for lunch at tampines mall, and while waiting for ym (who was late, as usual, her own first nature), i suggested going to converse and attempt to use the voucher before it gets void.
lo and behold!!
i found myself a new jacket; it was big, had very long sleeves, it's and hooded!
been looking for one like that since i was 16.
so we went for camp after lunch and stopping at starbucks, and we were then brutally separated into groups (but i still had fabian in mine for bullying) for talentime.
guess the theme?
"HEROES"
hah! in your face, fabian, you prison break fan, you!
for hours in the scorching afternoon sun, we played basketball and captain's ball, both of which induced horrible full-body aches that we felt after the nap we took when we reached home after camp ended.
still, it's ok. i mean, if it weren't for that, i wouldn't know when's the next time i would ever get a chance to exercise. or that being able to attempt shots single-handedly is of wow-value.
then throughout the evening, we (yl, ym, karen, pw) kept taking photographs of ourselves instead of the things around us- because you see, yl and i were terrified of all the ghost stories karthi told us- so i set a rule for myself:
"no flash photography after midnight!"
anyway, somewhere in between the whole night we were cam-whoring in the toilet, lecture theatre, and while we waited for our dinner.
our beloved business school canteen.
that's ym's elbow in the last photo.
that would be pw's legs at the left.
ym's elbows again.
black sony ericsson walkman phone is yl's, beige candybar phone is ym's and the lovely black clamshell phone is my dearest nokia 6131.
had cluedo afterwards.
some sort of detective/csi game where they made us start with one clue and we had to explore the whole business block from first to fifth floor looking for more clues and "interrogating" the main committee members, who acted as characters in the story, for even more details clues to solve the mystery and figure out the family tree of the characters.
weirdest family i've seen, by the way.
seems like almost every guy in the family has an affair with someone and the one who doesn't assumes that he's married to the girl that he had an unrequited love with.
it was... fun, come to think of it, when we weren't busy worrying about being scared by our haunted faculty and dimmed/switched-off lights.
most of us didn't sleep that night.
a few of us were playing dai di until 7am, karen was sharing ghost stories until 4 or 5am, genevieve was playing church songs on her guitar to other christian juniors, and others were watching movies in the lecture theatre.
well, if there's one thing i have to refute about God and his almightiness then, it's something to do with studying for exams.
gen said that if He didn't stike this metaphorical light in your head, no matter how you studied it still wouldn't work.
coming from a procratinating student like me, i still think that studying is one's own responsibility.
it's up to you to figure out which are the important parts and which isn't.
if you didn't even bother to try, then obviously no one, especially Him, isn't obligated to help give you a "spark" at all.
i'm as skeptical as atheists can get.
i mean, it's pointless depending so entirely in something you can't see. something so severely intangible. something you can't even be totally sure to be there the whole time, but the best bet is to just hope that it'll be there when you need it to be.
isn't it enough to believe in your own self? it's more than enough, when you really give some thought to that.
and of couse i didn't say all that in front of gen.
some people still need some form of faith in something.
horoscopes, higher powers, power inducing minerals, blah. it just so happens that i believe in nothing but myself.
i only mentioned the point about one's own resposibility to study in the first place, which she explained about everything being pointless if He didn't spark something, which, resulted in my whole mental debacle on this subject yet again.
oh, about dai di, it was yl's first time playing, and she won a lot of rounds too.
as for me, i've finally figured out why i hardly win.
my winning streak time is between 4.10am and 4.40am.
win after win, literally.
and it never happened before because i was always sleeping at that time.
(oh, that was so obvious! *insert bimbotic voice, then gag at the sound of it*)
wake me up if anyone feels like playing dai di at 4am, all right?
